What began as a breakdown became a home.
In 2022, our truck broke down near the end of a trip through the lower 48. What was supposed to be a short stop on the Oregon Coast turned into something much bigger. We stayed, put down roots, built community, and eventually created Oregon Coast Soaps.
Both Rob and I served in the military, with Rob completing a 17-year career as an Army infantryman. After his medical retirement and my own health challenges, we were looking for a simpler and more intentional way of living. Soapmaking started as a practical step toward healthier living and financial stability, but it quickly became something more.
Today, every bar begins with a story. Some are inspired by the Oregon Coast. Others come from history, traditions, places, or the fascinating things we discover while learning about the world around us. Through those stories, we hope to encourage a little more curiosity, connection, and appreciation for everyday life.
Oregon Coast Soaps supports our family, but more importantly, it reflects the values we try to live by: hard work, community, gratitude, and a lifelong love of learning.
