Our family’s journey to the Oregon Coast began unexpectedly in 2022, when our truck broke down near the end of our travels through the lower 48. What was meant to be a short stop became our home. We put down roots, began building community, and stepped into a new chapter shaped by work, responsibility, and choice.

Both Rob and I served in the military, with Rob completing a 17-year career as an Army infantryman. Following his medical retirement and my own health challenges, we were looking for a way to live more intentionally. Soapmaking began as a practical step toward healthier living and financial stability, but it soon grew into something deeper. It became a way to tell stories, honor where we are, and create meaningful connection through everyday work.

Living on the Oregon Coast taught us something quickly. This place was not built on convenience or charm. It was built by people who stayed because life asked them to put down roots and keep going. They protected their families, relied on one another when it mattered, and understood the value of honest labor. We believe that legacy still lives here in the land, the weather, and the stories carried forward by those willing to listen.
