The Salty Sea Lion

I love seals and sea lions! If you are a fisherman, I know that you are upset with me right now, but in my video I do address my new educated understanding of the reality of what it means to share a coastline with these animals, and that is incredibly important to understand, but I do still find them to be majestic.

Personally, I find the large bodies of water, and the unknown that comes with that territory, to be slightly terrifying. But even for scaredy me, the experience of being close to these aninals in their natural state is exhilarating, and an experience that I hope to never take for granted.

In honor of my love for these animals, we created a soap bar called the Salty Sea Lion. Rob came up with the name for the bar and I don't at all regret not naming our soap company The Salty Sea Lion (I do, a bit) but at least we have a bar. We also are considering making Mr. Salty our mascot and we have some plans for him in the making, so stay tuned.

If you have a couple minutes, please enjoy my low quality video (I need to purchase a mic) and know that all of the photos and videos taken, except one, were taken by me during our time on the Oregon coast. There is one picture that I snuck in for our daughter as a bit of an inside joke, let me know if you find it.

The Salty Sea Lion

Oregon Coast Soap’s Salty Sea Lion bar (click here) is crafted with sea salt to honor the waters these animals call home. It’s enriched with kelp powder, a sustainable and skin-loving tribute to the marine environment. The scent blends lavender and peppermint which is inspired by the feeling of watching these animals glide through the cold coastal waters, free and untamed, not just lounging on the docks (though I do love a quick hello and photo op too).
